Dog Companion keeps your records on your phone. There’s no account, no server of ours, no ads and no analytics. I can’t see your data, so I can’t lose it, sell it or hand it over.
Everything you create — dog profiles and titles, health and vaccine records, medications, weights, food and feeding, grooming and activity, documents and contacts, tasks, journal entries and photos, expenses and income, and, if you use Pro, heats, progesterone tests, breedings, litters and puppies, buyers and waitlists, placements and payments, and show entries — is stored only on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.
Health records, contacts, money records and buyer records are encrypted on your device. You can also put health, documents, money and buyer screens behind Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode with App Lock. Biometric checks are done by your phone; the app only learns whether they succeeded.
If you record buyers, co-owners, vets or other contacts, you are keeping their details on your own device. Please only record what you need and keep it secure — App Lock exists for exactly this.
Backups, CSV exports and PDFs (sitter sheet, vet summary, lost-dog flyer, pedigree, go-home packet) are made on your phone and handed to your share sheet. Where they go from there is up to you. A backup can be protected with a password.
The walk-conditions card is optional. When it’s on and you allow location, your approximate coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo, a free weather service that needs no account or key, to fetch a forecast. Nothing else is sent with them. Turn the card off in Settings and no request is made.
Reminders (vaccines, preventives, medications, tasks, heats, due dates, go-home days, show entry deadlines) are scheduled locally on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.
The optional Pro unlock is a one-time purchase through the App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat verifies it using an anonymous identifier, as described in their privacy policy. Your records are never part of that.
None. No analytics SDKs, no crash reporting that phones home, no advertising identifiers, no tracking.
Deleting the app deletes everything it stored. See Data Deletion for details.
Dog Companion is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal information from anyone.
