Data Deletion

Last updated: September 2026

Goat Companion stores all of your records locally on your device. We do not operate a server and hold none of your herd data. Deleting the app permanently removes all of it.

How to delete your data

Because everything is stored on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app:

  1. Long-press the Goat Companion app icon
  2. Tap Uninstall (Android) or Remove App → Delete App (iOS)
  3. Confirm

This immediately and permanently removes everything the app stored. There is no backup and no copy on our end, so this cannot be undone — unless you created your own backup archive first (see below), which is yours to keep or delete as you choose.

What is deleted

What we never held in the first place

There is no account, no sign-up, and no server. Your herd records are never transmitted to us, so there is nothing on our end to delete.

Location and voice input

If you turned on weather, your device's coordinates were sent to Open-Meteo to fetch a forecast; Open-Meteo does not retain them. If you used voice input, audio was processed by your device's built-in speech recognition (Google on Android, Apple on iOS) and is not stored by us. Neither leaves anything behind for us to delete. You can switch both off at any time in Settings, or revoke the permissions in your device settings.

Backup archives

If you created a backup archive, it lives wherever you saved or sent it — not with us. Deleting the app does not delete that file; delete it yourself from wherever you stored it if you no longer want it.

Pro purchase

The Pro unlock is a one-time purchase handled by the App Store or Google Play, with purchase validation through RevenueCat. That record is tied to an anonymous identifier, not to your name or email. To request deletion of the RevenueCat purchase record, contact us using the details below — note that this may prevent restoring your Pro unlock on a new device.
